Aluminum is often the material of choice for industrial ladder applications, and for good reason. It's roughly one-third the weight of steel, which can simplify installation significantly. Aluminum also forms a natural oxide layer that resists corrosion without paint or coating
For this project, an Alabama-based client on a tight construction schedule needed two custom ladders — one at roughly 15 feet and the other at nearly 14 feet — fabricated from aluminum plate, pipe, angle, channel, and grating.
Southern Metal Fabricators reviewed the customer-supplied drawings and, rather than simply executing them as written, presented alternate fabrication solutions where we could better serve the client's needs. Both ladders were pre-assembled before shipping to confirm fit and eliminate on-site surprises. The entire job was completed in less than three weeks.
